With our partners at Google, we recently, attended the Economist Event on “artificial intelligence in MENA”, organized by The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia (AmCham Saudi Arabia) Technology Committee in collaboration with The Economist.

The event featured a presentation of the report "Pushing Forward: The Future of AI in the Middle East and North Africa" from Economist Impact supported by Google, as well as a panel discussion including high level representatives from government and the private sector.

During the session, M&P’s CEO Moustafa H. Moharram called for the harmonization of standards/rules on artificial intelligence across the MENA region. According to him, this would ensure legal certainty to facilitate investment and innovation in AI as well as facilitate the development of a single regional market for homegrown AI applications and startups.
